ERA hosted for the second time the working groups from the ERASMUS+ Project "EUMA - Improvement of good governance of climbing and mountaineering in Europe".

 

 

 

 

On 26-27 July 2021, the leader of working group "trails", Helmut Schuster, welcomed the small group for the physical meeting. Further steps were approved at the meeting. The members of the group discussed the definition of policy and strategy plan for improvement of governance of trails, defined a communication and decision-making structure, agreed on the future steps for the creation of an trails database and negotiated in detail a status of waymarking and quality of trail in the European member countries of ERA and EUMA.

On 27-28 July 2021, the meeting of the working group "huts", under the leadership of Hanspeter Mair, was held. Strategic questions and achievable standards for huts were discussed in frame of the second phase of the project, focusing on strategy. A database of member huts was created. The members of the group expect still en extention of this database with missing member countries.

Thanks to the kind cooperation of the ERA 1st vice-president Gerhard Ermischer, the meetings were held in Aschaffenburg, Germany.

The results of the current work of all working groups, inlcuding the WG "rock areas" will be presented at the ERA General Meeting, held on 1st October 2021 in Sibiu, Romania and at the EUMA General Assembly, held on 9th October 2021 in Prague, Czech Republic.
